Natural Herbal Skin Care

Posted by La Hunter on 11th November 2009

Skin CareHerbal skin care treatments have been around for many, many years and even though their popularity has waned, their effectiveness has not diminished. The natural ingredients in herbal preparations will still care for your skin, and keep it looking fresh and healthy, provided of course that you use a suitable concoction of herbal ingredients to address your skin type and condition.

The production of commercial skin care products has grown enormously over the past few decades, and this is partially to blame for the drop in popularity of herbal preparations. The market is full of over the counter skin care products that claim to keep skin looking youthful for many years, and to ease the symptoms of a broad range of complaints. Some of these products actually work while others are rubbish, some are expensive, others are reasonably priced. Their most redeeming feature however, is that they are convenient. No more lengthy mixing stuff at home, just simply pop into the drug store and for a few dollars you can choose a product that is ready to use.

With the hectic lives that most people lead these days, this seems like a logical thing to do, particularly as these synthetic products are vigorously marketed, whereas natural herbal products are not, as they can be prepared at home and the ingredients are relatively cheap.

Commercial herbal skin care products are available from health food stores, but more often than not these preparations include additives or coloring that makes the product look attractive and extends it’s shelf life. This practice tends to detract from the products effectiveness and may cause undesirable results for some users. This is not the case with all herbal preparations, but you must read the labels and satisfy yourself that the product you are about to purchase is natural or organic, and free from any additives.

Your skin is one of the body’s most essential organs, it needs proper attention, so why not take the time to pamper your skin with the many natural herbs, oils and fruits that nature provides.

Sensitive Skin Care And Acne Treatment

Posted by La Hunter on 8th November 2009

Acne treatment products must be carefully selected before being used by those with sensitive skin. Outbreaks of acne are to be regarded as a serious skin disorder, no matter how minor the outbreak may seem. When the disease attacks sensitive skin it can cause severe problems unless the symptoms are controlled with suitable skin care products. People with sensitive skin find that their skin is easily irritated when it comes into contact with certain materials including, plants, food, dust, fabrics, soaps and lotions. There are many products available to ease these allergic symptoms but unfortunately most will not deal with skin disorders such as acne.

Even people with normal skin types will find that certain soaps and detergents will irritate their skin to some degree, so it is imperative that those who have sensitive skin use only quality skin care products that are especially designed for sensitive skin. These products are available over the counter at various stores, or from a beauty parlor. Always read the labels and choose products that have the least amount of additives for preserving or coloring the product. Don’t use toners or other products that contain alcohol and always wear protective clothing and gloves when handling laundry detergents or other household chemicals.

When working outdoors or pursuing outdoor activities wear protective neck to knee clothing, as well as a good quality sun screen, and always avoid exposure to the afternoon sun. By keeping your body clothed while outdoors you will be protected from the elements, dust, the sun and minor cuts or bruises.

After coming home from work, when your outdoor activities are completed, remove any makeup by using an hypoallergenic makeup remover. then wash you face gently with cool water using a cleanser rather than soap. Don’t scrub the skin, just use your hands and then pat dry with a soft towel.

When an acne outbreak occurs, seek advice from a beauty consultant, who will recommend a suitable product that is safe to use on your particular type of skin. If the condition persists or gets worse then consult a dermatologist in order to obtain a prescribed medication that will control the disorder.

Celebrities Pee in Cups

Posted by La Hunter on 6th November 2009

This article includes details of skin care problems faced by Jacko, and the struggle he had with acne during his teens. Dermatologist Arnold Klein, also mentions some of the eccentric behaviour that many famous stars have indulged in.

Celebrities Pee in Cups and Have Genitals That Require Maps, Says Jacko Dermatologist

JackoSelf-proclaimed dermatologist to the stars Arnold Klein is not to be trusted, but he sure tells good stories, like the one about the time he rebuilt Michael Jackson’s nose and how celebrities liked to pee in weird places.

Klein donned his very best sequin-enhanced suit for a 96-minute interview to TMZ last night. “I’ve flown to Tokyo to see a patient. I’ve flown to the Middle East to see patients, where Jews shouldn’t go,” he explained. He’s treated Charlie’s Angels and mogul’s wives. He’s treated famous singers.

Famous people are not like the rest of us. For one thing, they trust men like this with their corporeal well-being. But they have other peculiar practices, too, which Dr. Klein was only too happy to outline.

Here are a few:

If at first their faces don’t succeed, they try, try again. When Klein last saw Jacko, he looked like crap, so “I rebuilt his face.” It was so far gone “we blew it up” and started with a fresh slate. “That’s why I rebuilt his nose. His nose looked perfectly normal [after he fixed it, in This Is It], right? Michael Jackson looked like a nose … It’s not like rebuilding Babylon, but you have to do a lot of work to do this.”

They like to pee in eccentric places. Asked how Jackson’s alleged 1993 molestation victim was able to describe “in great details discolorations and markings in Michael Jackon’s genitals,” Klein doesn’t miss a beat, first suggesting that the child had “studied the penis like studying a map,” then offers an reasonable explanation for how the study session came about in the first place: “He pees in cups. I guess he was raised in a situation where they peed in a cups. I know a very famous country singer who pees in bed because it was the only way to keep herself warm in bed in the country.”

They do not get addicted to crystal meth. Meth, Dr. Klein explains, is physically not addictive. “I could give Michael meth.” He had a long line of reasoning for this, which involved asking for a show of hands of who, on TMZ’s set, had ever had tried crystal meth. Unfortunately, nobody raised their hands, so I guess we’ll never know the secret to non-addictive methamphetamine, now.

They get creative with skincare. Jacko had very bad acne. “Do you know how much acne he had?” Klein asks, full of indignation. “He wouldn’t go to school. … He used to love to go and scrub his face with brillo. He thought it would cure his acne.”

They find Prince rather boring. Bad was supposed to be an M.J.-Prince duet, Klein says. But it fell through when Prince showed up at Jacko’s house and wouldn’t stop shut up. He talked and talked and talked and then, when he finally left, Jacko didn’t bother calling him back and the two-man version of the song never happened.
