Experts in the United States have conducted studies that show that stress is the major cause of anxiety and depression. The studies, conducted by scientists from Harvard Medical School and Mclean Hospital, where performed using mice as subjects, and results indicated that long term exposure to the stress hormones, cortisol and corticotropin resulted in anxiety and depression.
