In the first part of the 1900's, Epiphone seemed to be among the only manufacturers to consider jazz music earnestly and so they released the Sheraton, a hollowbody guitar with f-holes which enabled players to play as fully as they wished minus the feedback they were getting with other electric guitars. Then going to 2002 and the introduction of the Epiphone Elitist Sheraton guitar and Epiphone has done the impossible. They made the Sheraton better still.
Finally the first Epiphone Sheraton guitar was replaced in popularity by the Gibson ES-355 that was as well unveiled in 1930, although there had been a lot of well-known jazz musicians who still sang it's praises. Nevertheless the Sheraton was eventually discontinued in 1970 simply to be introduced again in the late ninteen eighties. The Epiphone Sheraton II was launched in 94' as a cheaper model designed to interest far more people. And finally, the Elitist line was created in 2003 as a compromise guitar that would appeal to the price conscious and the high-priced Gibson lovers.
